Miss Duncan-Lyman-Wellford is a closed pageant with an area consisting of the Upstate of South Carolina and its surrounding counties. (Contestants must reside, work full time or attend school full time in the Upstate of South Carolina)

MISS DUNCAN-LYMAN-WELLFORD CONTESTANTS

 

You must be 17 years old (12th grade) and no older than 24 years old on the day of the competition.

(NOTE: You must be no older than 24 as of December 31, 2010)

 

MISS COMPETITION CATEGORIES:

  • Interview (10 minute private interview w/ judges, including a 30 second closing statement.)
  • Onstage Question (Contestants to wear Opening Number Attire)
  • Swimsuit  (Contestant to wear swimsuit of choice-may be 1 or 2 piece in good taste)
  • Talent (Talent Routine should be no longer than 2 minutes)
  • Evening Gown (Contestant to wear gown of choice)

 

MISS CONTESTANT REQUIREMENTS (IMPORTANT!)

1. CHILDRENS MIRACLE NETWORK- Miss Contestants are REQUIRED to collect $100 in donations for the Children's Miracle Network to compete. This is per a requirment from the Miss America Organization. (A cap of $400 is applied to contestants who compete in more than 4 local preliminaries)

Confirmation of the Children's Miracle Network $100 in collected donations will be required to be turned in before you compete!

Sign up with CMN as a 2010 Miss Duncan-Lyman-Wellford Contestant and encourage family and friends to make a tax deductible contribution to your account.

2. PLATFORM- Select a Platform or cause you wish to support and work with during your year of service if selected Miss D-L-W and begin working now in your community with this platform.

3. U.S.A Freedom Corps- Sign up and begin logging in your volunteer and community service hours. Hours from July 2009 through June 2010 may be applied towards the total number of hours for the year.

MISS DUNCAN-LYMAN-WELLFORD TEEN CONTESTANTS

 

You must be at least 13 years old (or at least in 7th grade) and no higher than in the 11th grade on the day of the local competition to compete as a teen contestant. (If you are in the 12th grade then you must compete in the Miss Division.)

TEEN COMPETITION CATEGORIES

  • Interview (6 minute private interview w/ the judges-no opening or closing statement)
  • On-Stage Question (Contestant to wear Opening Number Attire)
  • Physical Fitness (Contestant will wear navy blue soffe style shorts and tennis shoes. matching T-shirt of choice)
  • Talent (Talent routine should be no longer than 2 minutes)
  • Evening Gown (Contestants to wear TEEN APPROPRIATE gown of choice

TEEN CONTESTANT REQUIREMENTS

1. $100 TEEN ENTRY FEE ( made payable to Miss D-L-W Scholarship Pageant)

2. CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK-  Teen contestants must sign up with the Children't Miracle Network as a teen contestant in the Miss Duncan-Lyman-Wellford Teen Pageant.  Encourage your family and friends to make a tax deductible donation to your account. Here is the link to sign up:
